becoming a yogi
“Yoga is a practice that allows me to connect profoundly with my body, my mind, and my soul. It is a practice that allows me to honor my own truth and gives me a chance to be more centered in this present moment.”
My journey began at age 20. It had been about a year since I had decided to move out of my parents home and to a completely different state for the first time, ever. Being away from my family was very tough on me and shortly after my move, I started to fall into a very low state emotionally AND mentally. I began to suffer from depression and had anxiety attacks. I went through all of this in silence without telling anybody.
One day I came across a yoga studio in my neighborhood. That summer I decided to sign up for some classes, mainly because I was looking for a new hobby, but also because I had been dealing with a terrible lower back pain from a work injury and had been recommended by others to try yoga. By the end of that summer, my back pain was gone and my anxiety attacks occurred less often than before.
Months went by and I absolutely fell in love with my yoga practice. Especially the way it made me feel! I decided to take a 200-hour yoga teacher training and was really dedicated the first couple of weeks but ended up dropping out of it just a few days before the training was over. I had too much going on in my life and the timing just wasn’t right.

Timing is everything. This is a reminder that sometimes we just have to surrender and let life flow at its own rhythm. The Universe always has something better planned for us.
Yoga continued being a part of my life but not something I was consistent with for the following years after. However, it did become one of my biggest passions in life and that is exactly what led me to making the decision that I wanted to try again and become a certified yoga instructor.
I knew I wanted to do this in a magical destination, somewhere by a beach or surrounded by nature. So I immediately started looking up schools and came across House of Om in Bali, Indonesia. A spiritual resort and retreat center that is located in the middle of a jungle and two rivers running around it. TRULY MAGICAL.

I found my experience to be very unique and I will share more about that in another blog post, specifically talking about my 200-hour yoga teacher training.

Immediately after my return back from my travels, I started to teach independently at a private gym for a couple of months before I came across a yoga studio in my hometown that was hiring instructors. I have been teaching at this studio since and feel so blessed for all of the opportunities it has brought me so far. I teach a few classes a week and love the feedback I have received so far from my students and yogi community.
With this being said, I have also started working on online courses that I will be offering very soon.
💜 Stay tuned for future updates. ☻ XOXO
As of this moment, I will continue to expand my knowledge and never stop learning from everything that this beautiful practice has to offer. I will continue to share my learnings and continue impacting others in a positive way. I am FOREVER THANKFUL for this path that I have chosen to take. Thankful for every soul out there that has chosen to trust in me. ♡
