MORNING RITUALS
GOOOOOOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!!!!! 𖤓
Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a morning person and always have been. I am also a big advocate for creating a healthy and enjoyable morning routine in order to set the mood for the rest of my day. Without my <<morning routine>> I find myself feeling unbalanced, a bit lost, and even annoyed and short-tempered throughout my day. I absolutely hate feeling this way so therefore, I make sure to make time every day to start my morning on the right flow.
I like to start my morning with a warm cup of water, lemon, and fresh ginger. In an ideal world, I dedicate at least 1 HOUR each morning to my <<morning rituals.>> I also make sure to drink a cup of water right when I wake up. {A good trick is to serve yourself a cup of water the night before that way it’s on your nightstand right when you wake up}.
I then set up a comfortable space for my meditation/breathwork session. I sometimes do a short-guided meditation, or depending on how much time I have, I will allow my meditations to go for as long as it feels right. {You can find guided meditations on YouTube or Spotify, and soon I will be providing my own}.
After my meditation, I like to journal and write about anything that I am feeling or thinking about at that moment. Journaling has helped me with clearing my mind so that I can create more space for the rest of my day. It has also helped me manifest and create a life of abundance. More on this topic later…
I then like to invite gentle movement into my body. I set out my yoga mat and I like to free flow, allowing my body to move as it wishes. This practice {ritual} allows me to connect with my strengths and weaknesses, giving me an opportunity to notice how my body is feeling at that moment so that I can be mindful of this for the rest of the day. I enjoy creating fun yoga flows to get my body out of its comfort zone and explore its full potential.
Moving on to my favorite part of my day, which is breakfast! I love to nourish my body with delicious food. The more fresh, the better!
(You can find some of my favorite {quick & easy} recipes on the RECIPES tab, or click on the link below).
A new ritual I started adding to my mornings, are COLD SHOWERS. This has been life-changing for me. There are many benefits that come from these cold showers/ice baths, which I plan on sharing more about on a different blog post. If interested, you can look up some of the benefits online/Google and do some research before attempting.
On a day when I don’t have plans that morning, I will fit in my beauty skincare routine, which is super simple to be honest I like to keep it as minimal as possible, as I am still learning more about what is good for my skin and also what skincare products are cruelty-free/sustainable. If I don’t have time in the mornings, I make sure to dedicate a few minutes before bedtime to take care of my skin. I wish this was something I started doing years ago, but it’s better late than never.
I also recently started performing a lymphatic drainage massage on myself. Like I mentioned, this is something that I just started doing recently, and am still learning about all of its benefits and how to properly perform it on myself in order to show others. So far, I like the feeling I get afterwards, as it helps with my bloating and/or swelling. These massages are also known to help with stimulating blood circulation and can help with tissue regeneration.
Lastly, as part of my <<morning routine>> I like to spend a bit of time planning out my day. Even if I have nothing major going on, I like to stay organized in case something does come up later that day. I am very much old-school when it comes to keeping an actual physical agenda; I still like to use these type of planners instead of digital ones. Having a “to-do” list helps my day run more smoothly, even if I don’t complete everything on my list, it allows me to feel more productive throughout the day.
OH AND ONE LAST THING. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPEND TIME CONNECTING WITH NATURE. Step outside for a few minutes and breathe some fresh air, soak in some natural sunlight, gift yourself minutes grounding with the earth, walking barefoot, listing to the birds and noises around you, noticing the clouds passing by, simply connecting.
These are some of the morning rituals that I greatly enjoy and find that are contributing to my good health and overall well-being in a positive way. I am more than happy to share these with you all and I hope that you are able to find what works best for you and your happiness. I wish you a happy journey.
